El Punt (English: The Point) is a Catalan language daily newspaper based in Girona, Catalonia. The newspaper was renamed in 1990 from Punt Diari.

History

The newspaper was founded on February 24, 1979. In the beginning the paper was only circulated in the province of Girona, but from September 11, 2004 it became available in the province of Barcelona. By 2008 it had seven editions: Barcelona, Girona, Barcelonès nord, Maresme, Camp de Tarragona-Terres de l'Ebre, Penedès, and Vallès Occidental.

"El Punt" is the second most widely sold Catalan language newspaper (just behind Avui), with a circulation of more than 26,000 per day as of 2005.
