Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM) is a leading British-based distributor of electronic components. It is headquartered in Oxford and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

The company was founded by J.H. Waring and P.M. Sebestyen in 1937 as Radiospares selling spare parts for radios in London.[1] In 1967 it was first listed on the London Stock Exchange as Electrocomponents.[1] In 1999 it acquired Allied Electronics, a leading US-based distributor.[2]
