Elizabeth "Liz" Gillies was born in a small New Jersey town called Haworth. This might sound familiar as Brooke Shields also grew up in Haworth. Liz is close with her current Victorious cast members, and of course the 13 cast. She has a fan Page on Facebook, and is known as @LizGillies on Twitter.
Gillies started her career showing up in commercials for bubblegum and cellphones. She got roles in The Black Donnellys and Locker 514 which really jump-started her career. She was cast in The Clique and Harold as a supporting character in both. In summer 2008, she was cast as Lucy in a Goodspeed production of Jason Robert Brown's new musical about growing up, 13. Later that year, 13 moved to Broadway, which made it the first Broadway production to have an all teen cast. She receives the two big numbers "Opportunity" and "It Can't Be True" along with smaller parts in other songs, such as the title song, "Hey Kendra" and more. "13" was a huge success until its closing in January.
On January 4, 2009, "13" closed down. She resumed dating her costar, Eric Nelsen. Liz is currently filming a Nickelodeon series called Victorious, in which she plays a mean high school girl named Jade, not much unlike her role in 13. Victorious is about a girl named Tori who is thrown into a high school called Hollywood High, which is a performing arts school. It is produced by Dan Schneider, who was made a success by his other Nick shows, Zoey 101, Drake and Josh, and iCarly. Zoey 101's Victoria Justice stars as Tori in Victorious.
