Emma Amos (b. March 16, 1938) is an American painter and printmaker. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Amos studied at Antioch College in Ohio, at the London Central School of Art in England, and at New York University.[1]

Spiral

During the 1960s Amos was the only female member of Spiral, a group of African-American artists based in New York City. Other founding members included Romare Bearden and Norman Lewis.
