History

On Lawson's 2009 Christmas blog, she stated that her forthcoming album, Emotional Rollercoaster would be released through Metamorphis Music and distributed through Universal, but due to her run in the musical Thriller - Live, the album's release date was delayed.[1] In the Spring of 2010, Lawson returned to the studio to record new tracks and new mix previously recorded tracks.

Background

The album was produced by Brian Rawling who has worked with Tina Turner. The first single, "Breaking Me Down" is written by Michelle Escoffery, Steve Lewinson, Pete Lewinson and Maria. It was released in early September 2008. Maria performed the single and other songs from Emotional Rollercoaster at Party in the Park in Leeds on Sunday 27 July. She undertook a radio and TV tour across the UK throughout August 2008.
