Enkephalinase is an enzyme which degrades endogenous enkephalin opioid peptides.

Inhibitors of enkephalinase include D/DL-phenylalanine, RB-101, and racecadotril. Enkephalinase inhibitors have analgesic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, and antidiarrheal effects.
