From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Epicurious is a website dedicated to recipes, cooking, drinking, entertaining, and restaurants. It is owned by Conde Nast Digital, the online division of Conde Nast Publications.[1] The site also includes recipes from Bon Appétit magazine and Gourmet magazine.[2] The site accepts recipe contributions from readers. The name is a portmanteau of "epicure", one with discriminating tastes in food or wine, and curious, and is a pun on the etymological origin of "epicure", Epicurus, a Greek philosopher.

Epicurious used to have a TV series on the Discovery Channel, but it no longer airs.

CondeNet launched an iPhone app[3] for Epicurious in April 2009 that includes thousands of recipes, the ability to save favorite recipes and build a shopping list.
