Location of the Diocese of Washington

The Episcopal Diocese of Washington is the ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Episcopal Bishop of Washington in the United States. The territory comprises the District of Columbia and the Maryland counties of Charles, St. Mary's, Prince George's and Montgomery. Its principal church is the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, unofficially known as Washington National Cathedral, located at Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues in Washington, D.C. Governed from Mount Saint Albans, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington is a member see of the greater Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA) which in turn is a member of the Anglican Communion. The diocese has a very active youth ministry, led by a group of talented youth, the EDOW COY (Committee on Youth). With many events, such as a Cathedral Lock-In and Middle and High school retreat, there are hundreds of youth that are involved in the diocese.

The Rt. Rev. John Bryson Chane is the current and eighth bishop of Washington.
