Eugenio Caballero is a Mexican director who won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Art Direction with Pilar Revuelta in 2007 for the film Pans Labyrinth (2006).

Caballero was born in the City of Mexico, Mexico c1970 and studied History of the Art and History of the Cinema in the University of Florence between 1989 to 1991. On his return to Mexico he worked as a director at the National Institute of Beau Arts and in the artistic direction of the Latin-American University. Caballero has been a production designer, director, art director, also he has made musical products for publicity and video clips; between his more outstanding collaborations it is the work with Café Tacuba. Caballero is considered student of the German been in Mexico Brigitte Broch, credited with an Oscar for the artistic direction of Moulin Rouge!. Its debut in the cinematographic art occurred in the most recent film version of Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann (1996). He has collaborated in the artistic direction with Jorge Eyrie, Serious Assassin in of Antonio Urrutia, About the Living by Carlos Salces, Santitos by Alexander Springall (1997) and Chronicles of Sebastián Lamb (2004). In 2006 it collaborated in the film Resident Evil: Extinction with Russel Mulcahy. Also he has collaborated with Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo del Toro and Frida Torresblanco.
