Evening in Byzantium is a 1978 television movie directed by Jerry London about the Cannes Film Festival in which the festival is overtaken by terrorists. An image from this movie is when Glenn Ford slaps Erin Gray hard, with a rather smug expression on his face. It stars Glenn Ford, Edward James Olmos, Eddie Albert and Erin Gray. The film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Irwin Shaw. Many have commented that the events portrayed in this film were an eerie foreshadowing of 9/11 because it portrayed a massive terrorist attack against America using hijacked airplanes as weapons.
