The Hollywood Reporter describes Fencewalker as "a coming-of-age semiautobiographical character piece with no supernatural elements".[1]
Chris Carter wrote the script for Fencewalker and began production of the film in secret. Carter personally raised financing for the film, which reportedly has a modest budget. Filming was taking place by June 2008 in the Los Angeles area, including Carter's hometown Bellflower.[1] The Baltimore Sun reported the following July that Carter's personal project may not see release.[2]
