The Flight of the Hippogriff (a retheming of Flying Unicorn) is an upcoming roller coaster at the Islands of Adventure theme park.

The ride will be located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section, and is a mild alternative to the land's more extreme rides. In fact, it is located adjacent to the very extreme Dragon Challenge roller coasters. It is one of the first attractions to be added to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area after its grand opening.

The Flying Unicorn, which "Hippogriff" will replace, closed on July 7, 2008. On September 15, it was officially confirmed that the attraction will be rethemed as "Flight of the Hippogriff".[1]

Attraction summary

The coaster's new backstory is that Hagrid is teaching young wizards how to fly a Hippogriff by using fake replicas of the creature. Presumably, the queue will be near or in Hagrid's Hut.
