Countries' best result in men's football in Asian Games (gold for gold medal, silver for silver medal, and bronze for bronze medal, others light blue)

Men's Association football was an Asian Games sport since the 1951 edition. Women's football competition began on 1990.

Since 2002 Asian Games, age limit for men teams is under-23, same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics, while three over aged players are allowed among each squad.
