The European Atomic Forum (FORATOM) is the Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry in Europe. It says that its "main purpose is to promote the use of nuclear energy in Europe by representing the interests of this important and multi-faceted industrial sector.". [1][2]
The current director of Foratom is Santiago San Antonio[3].
The main activity of the forum is to make European policy more beneficial for the nuclear industry. Its European activities are closely intertwined with that of the European Nuclear Society which holds office at the same address.
Foratom estimated that in 2007 it spent € 1.634.500 on lobbying EU institutions[4].
