Foster is a short film written and directed by UK filmmaker Jonathan Newman.
The film was produced by Newman's company Serendipity Films. It is about a young boy searching for his Foster parents and his parallel story as an adult.
Foster premiered on HBO and BBC in 2007.
Foster was a BBC Three new filmmaker finalist in 2007 for its creator, Newman.
It won Best Film, Best Actor (for Preston Nyman), Special Jury Prize and Best Screenplay at the Braga International Film Festival in Portugal. It was nominated for Best Film at the Rhode Island Film Festival in 2006.
