Four MaXed is a 16oz. aluminum-canned caffeinated alcoholic malt beverage sold in the United States and the European Union and produced by Phusion Projects Inc. of Chicago. It contains 10.0%ABV as well as carbonation, sugar and natural and artificial flavoring, similar to other alcopops. Currently there are two flavors available, grape and citrus. Four MaXed is also manufactured in The Netherlands for the EU version, which is bottled in a 8.3oz (250ml) glass bottle. The EU version contains Absinthe and is spirit-based instead of the US malt based version. Its name is derived from its four other ingredients, caffeine, taurine, guarana, and FDA-approved wormwood oil, the species of which is unknown.
Four has added a 23.5oz (695ml) beverage called Four Loko to their product line. It contains 12.0%ABV. Currently there are seven flavors available, the three original flavors (fruit punch, orange blend and grape), watermelon, blue raspberry, lemonade, and cranberry lemonade. Four LOKO is currently only available for the U.S. market. A 23.5oz can of Four Loko is estimated to contain 660 calories.
