Fragments (a.k.a. Winged Creatures) is a 2008 film adaptation of Roy Freirich's novel Winged Creatures. It stars Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Josh Hutcherson, Guy Pearce, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Embeth Davidtz. It was released on DVD by Peace Arch Entertainment in the US on August 4, 2009, as Fragments.

Plot

While in a restaurant, Carla Davenport, the restaurant cashier; Charlie Archenault, a driving-school teacher; Bruce Laraby, an emergency room physician; Anne Hagen, her father, and her best friends Jimmy Jasperson and Alicia Summers suddenly hear gun shots. Anne, her father, Alicia and Jimmy retreat under a table as a suicidal gunman shoots several people (including Anne's father) and then himself. The film shows the aftermath as these six traumatized people struggle to regain their trust in the ordinary world.
