France Football is a French bi-weekly magazine containing football news from all over the world. It's one of the most reputable sports publications in Europe, mostly because of their photographic reports and accurate statistics of the big European Cup matches, and extensive coverage of the European leagues. The magazine was first published in 1946.

The Ballon d'Or (French for Golden Ball and often referred to as European Footballer of the Year award) is the most notable award distributed by France Football. The award has been given out annually since 1956, with the inaugural winner being Stanley Matthews and the most recent recipient being Lionel Messi, 96 jurors gave Messi 473 points out of a possible 480.
Every year, the magazine elects the best French player of the year. Till 1995, only French players playing in France could win it. Since 1996, French players playing abroad can win the trophy. Since 2001, former winners elect the winner of the year.
