Founded in 1970 as the RAND Graduate Institute, PRGS was one of the eight original schools of public policy in the United States. The core curriculum includes graduate coursework in microeconomics, statistics and econometrics, social and behavioral sciences, and operations research. In addition to coursework, qualifying examinations, and the dissertation, PRGS students are also required to work 300 days of practicum on RAND Corporation projects.
