GNUpdf is a GNU project that aims to completely implement the Portable Document Format standards in free software. While many projects, such as Poppler already freely provide support of PDF adequate for most, none provide a complete implementation. For example, interactive forms and embedded multimedia content support is lacking.[1]

Current work is on the library (libgnupdf) and a PDF Knowledge Database. A complete PDF viewer/editor called Juggler is planned, but coding it has not started.[2]
