Gar Forman is an American basketball executive.

College career and scandal

He was an assistant coach under Tim Floyd at Iowa State. Before then, he had a "scandalized"[1] tenure as an assistant coach at New Mexico State in the early 1990s. Forman was accused of directing staff to guide "potential transfers through sham correspondence courses at the notorious Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God (SCAG)"[2] Forman received a three-year "show cause" penalty for violating institutional control principles.

Chicago Bulls

Forman joined the Chicago Bulls in 1998 along with then-head coach Tim Floyd. From 2004 to 2009 he served as director of player personnel for the Chicago Bulls.[3] In 2009, he was promoted to general manager, replacing John Paxson.[4]
