History

The earliest part of the Church of England parish church of Saint Mary is the Norman tower, built towards the end of the 12th century.[1] The Gothic Revival architect Joseph Clarke restored the building in 1849.[2] The bell tower has a peal of six bells.[3]

Garsington Manor House was built in the 16th century and remodelled in the 17th century.[2] It was the home of Lady Ottoline Morrell, and there is a memorial to her in St. Mary's church.

A school was built in Garsington in 1840. It was reorganised as a junior school in 1923.[1] It is now a Church of England primary school.[4]
