The Gau Mainfranken (English:Gau Main-Franconia), was an administrative division of Nazi Germany in Lower Franconia, Bavaria, from 1933 to 1945. Previous to that, since 1926, it was the regional subdivision of the Nazi Party in this region.

History

The Gau was originally called Unterfranken but, on suggestion of Otto Hellmuth, renamed Mainfranken on 30 July 1935.[2]
