Eugene Antonio "Geno" Hayes (born August 10, 1987 in Greenville, Florida) is an American football linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida State.

Hayes was allegedly stabbed in the back of the head with a pair of scissors by his 19 year old girlfriend on March 9, 2009.[1]

College career

Prior to Florida State's 2007 loss to Florida, Hayes earned media attention for his comments about Gators quarterback and eventual Heisman winner Tim Tebow.[2]

Hayes was drafted in the 6th round 175th overall in 2008 and after playing in 9 games in his rookie year mostly on special teams he took over and started at weak side linebacker for the Tampa bay Buccaneers in 2009 replacing Derrick Brooks a Buccaneer legend and a idol to Hayes.
