George C. Edwards (1914-1992) was a justice of the Michigan Supreme Court from 1956 until 1962.

Edwards was born in Dallas, Texas. He received his bachelors degree from Southern Methodist University and a masters degree from Harvard University. He then received a law degree from the Detroit College of Law.

From 1941 until 1943 Edwards was a member of the Detroit Housing Commission. Then from 1943-1946 he served in the United States Army, primarily stationed in the Philippines. Edwards also served as a member of the Detroit City Council.

In 1951 Edwards became a judge of the Detroit Probate Court. In 1954 he became part of the Wayne County Circuit Court.

Edwards resigned from the Michigan Supreme Court in 1962 to become Detroit Police Commissioner.
