George Carter (born August 4, 1846 in Warblington, Hampshire; date of death unknown) was an English cricketer. Carter was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm roundarm fast.

Carter made his first-class debut for Hampshire in 1869 against the Marylebone Cricket Club. From 1869 to 1870, Carter played four first-class matches for Hampshire.

Carter would wait six years before next representing the county, this time in the 1876 season. Carter played eight first-class matches for Hampshire in his second spell at the county, with his final first-class appearance coming against Kent in 1878. In his twelve matches for the club, Carter scored 274 runs at a batting average of 11.91, with a high score of 34. With the ball Cater took a single wicket.

Carter's date of death is unknown.
