Lucas had been in a long relationship with and engaged to singer Linda Ronstadt. He has been dating Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Investments, since 2006 and she has accompanied him to several events including the 79th Academy Awards ceremony in February 2007, an American Film Institute event in October 2007, the 2008 Cannes Film Festival held in May, and the 2010 Golden Globes.[16][17][18]

    If we make a mistake, it will be in picking the wrong person. .What we're striving for is total freedom, where we can finance our pictures, make them our way, release them where we want them released and be completely free to express ourselves.^ The prequels are the way I want them so I dont expect to ever make special editions of them.

George Walton Lucas, Jr. (born May 14, 1944 in Modesto, California) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter most famous for his Star Wars and Indiana Jones movie series.

He also directed the films THX 1138 (1970) and American Graffiti (1973), and with his good friend Steven Spielberg, he made the Indiana Jones series. He is also an innovator for what he has done with special effects, and has founded companies that make not only movies, but also things like video games, theme park rides, and TV shows.
