Geum quellyon Sweet is a perennial herb of the Rosaceae family, native to the Central Region of Chile. It is commonly cultivated as a garden ornamental, and in that context is sometimes called Geum chiloense[1].
It has been used in the traditional medicine of the Mapuche Amerindians of Chile to treat tooth neuralgia, gastric inflammation, prostatitis and to regulate menstruation[2] The methanolic extract is obtained from the root of Geum quellyon. It is has a lot of action include anti inflammatory effect, anti oxidant, and antitumor effect which is our concern. The methanolic extract contain tannin compounds Tannins have been shown to have antitumor activity[3]
