Giacomo Bulgarelli (24 October 1940 – 12 February 2009) was an Italian footballer and television commentator.

Playing career

Bulgarelli was born in Portonovo di Medicina, province of Bologna. His career (1959–1975) was entirely spent playing for Bologna, then a major team in the Italian Serie A. He was a regular in the starting line-up of the last bolognese team to win a title ("Scudetto") in 1964. He's still considered a football legend in Bologna, one of the few modern players to play all his life for his hometown club.

He was capped for the Italian national team for the 1962 and 1966 World Cup, scoring two goals and getting injured in the infamous defeat by North Korea—one of the favourites for the final victory, Italy lost 1-0 in the first stages of the competition and had to exit. He was also part of Italy-s 1968 European Championship winning squad, although he did not feature in any of the matches in the tournament finals.

Post-playing career

In 1990s he had a brief stint as television commentator for TMC and RAI, usually with Massimo Caputi and Bruno Pizzul.
