Apharsachites

A company of the colonists whom the Assyrian king planted in Samaria (Ezra 5:6-7).

Arkites

Arkites, also Archites were the descendants of Canaan according to Genesis 10:17 and 1 Chronicles 1:15 and were inhabitants of the land of Canaan according to Joshua 16:2. David's friend Hushai was an Archite (2 Samuel 15:32).

Arvadites

Arvadites were the descendants of Canaan according to Genesis 10:18 and 1 Chronicles 1:16.

Girgashites

Girgashites, or Girgasites, were the descendants of Canaan according to Genesis 10:16 and 1 Chronicles 1:14 and were inhabitants of the land of Canaan according to Genesis 15:21, Deuteronomy 7:1, Joshua 3:10, 24:11, and Nehemiah 9:8. At times they are not listed along with the other Canaanite tribes inhabiting the Holy Land; according to some, such as Rashi, this is because they left the Land of Israel before the Israelites returned from Egypt.

Hamathites were the descendants of Canaan according to Genesis 10:18 and 1 Chronicles 1:16.

Zemarites

Zemarites were the descendants of Canaan according to Genesis 10:18 and 1 Chronicles 1:16.

Meaning: dwelling in clayey soil

The descendants of the fifth son of Canaan (Gen 10:16), one of the original tribes inhabiting the land of Canaan before the time of the Israelites (Gen 15:21; Deut 7:1). They were a branch of the great family of the Hivites. Of their geographical position nothing is certainly known. Probably they lived somewhere in the central part of Western Palestine.
