Given Imaging pioneered PillCam capsule endoscopy and offers a range of PillCam video capsules and related products. The PillCam capsules are miniature video cameras that patients ingest.
As of May 20, 2009, the Company had sold more than 1,000,000 PillCam SB capsules in over 60 countries Worldwide.[1] In December 2008, the Company acquired the Bravo pH monitoring business from Medtronic.
on September 14 2009, Given imaging announced encouraging results from a trial that validated new features of the company's second-generation PillCam(R) Colon video capsule and system. The Company also announced that it has obtained the CE mark for the sale of PillCam COLON 2 in Europe.[2]
The Company’s corporate headquarters, research and development laboratories, and manufacturing facilities, are located in Yoqneam, Israel. North American headquarters are located in the USA in Duluth, Georgia. European headquarters are in Hamburg, Germany. Additional sales and marketing offices are located in Paris, Madrid, Sydney and Tokyo, and a second production facility is located in Ireland.
