Encyclopedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Great Desert is a desert which mainly appears in the Horse and his Boy by C S Lewis, the fifth in reading order and third in chronological order. It is a fictional location in Narnia that separates Calormen and Archenland. It is crossed by Shasta and Aravis in the book. It is described as an ocean of sand by Narnians and has an oasis in between. It can also be crossed by sea as the calormen do in the seventh part. The Hermit of the Southern March lives North of it. Beyond it is Anvard and Narnia.[1]
