His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (born 1963) is a United Arab Emirati politician and royalty. He is the current Ruler (emir)'s Representative in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi, the mayor of the region.

Biography

He is the 4th son of the founder of UAE, the late president HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which also served as the emir of Abu Dhabi. He is the younger half-brother of the current emir and UAE president Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Along with his half-brother HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, they served as Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, while the Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the emir of Dubai.

Another elder brother HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the current Crown Prince.

In 2009, his younger brother (or half brother) Saif and Mansour succeed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Child camel jockey

During 2002, he announced the ban of employing children as camel jockeys.[1]
