The Handelsblatt (English: "commerce paper") is the leading German commercial economy newspaper published by the Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt in Düsseldorf, a subsidiary of Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. It has a circulation of 148,319 daily copies. Its editor-in-chief is Bernd Ziesemer.

Since September 2005 the newspaper offers an online lexicon called WirtschaftsWiki which features definitions of terms used in economics and politics. The data-base can be modified by any registered user.

Handelsblatt Ranking of Top Economists

In September 2006 the newspaper ranked all Economists working in Germany, Austria and the German Speaking part of Switzerland. An "English summary" of the ranking is available online.
