Harry Lockett (1855 – 1930) was an English association football manager and administrator.

Biography

Lockett was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1855 and died in 1930.[1]

Career

Lockett represented Stoke City at the meeting in London which led to the formation of the Football League, and served as the League's first Secretary from 1888 to 1902.[2] Lockett managed Stoke for their first two seasons in the League,[3] although he began as manager in 1884.[4] During his time at Stoke he was in charge for 55 games, which resulted in 13 victories, 33 losses, and 9 draws.[5]
