Hatton Canyon is a protected area in Monterey County, California.[1] It was under the control of the CalTrans, due to plans dating from 1952 calling for a freeway to be constructed through the canyon, until Governor Gray Davis signed it over to the California State Parks in 2002.[1] It is currently accessible to the public at Carmel Valley Road via a dirt trail. Plans to pave the trail to allow bicycle access were set aside in 2009 due to concerns of some neighbors.
