Heidi Range was born to Paul Range (born 1959) and Karen Livingstone (born 1961). Range has five siblings, Hayley (born 1980) and Taylor (born 1997).s
Range began singing at an early age. Her first show was when she was three and she performed "Hey Little Hen" at the Neptune Theatre in Liverpool, her hometown.[1]
She started her musical career in Atomic Kitten with Liz McClarnon and Kerry Katona and was part of the original line up. She was featured on Atomic Kitten's demo tapes, but she left the group in 1999 because she preferred to sing R&B. Heidi also auditioned for the group Scooch but never became a member as she was underage.
After Siobhán Donaghy left the Sugababes in 2001, Range took part in an audition for a replacement. Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan were very impressed by her singing and added her to the line up.[2] She recorded some solo tracks just before she became a Sugababe.[citation needed]
Range was present in the Sugababes when the group received their first #1 hit, "Freak Like Me". Range enjoyed success with Buchanan and Buena (9 of their 10 singles during this era became top ten hits) and later on with Amelle Berrabah after she replaced Buena in 2005. With Berrabah and Buchanan; the group continued to have hits (6 out of their 10 singles in this period made it into the top 10).
Range and Berrabah were joined by Jade Ewen after Buchanan's departure late September 2009. So far they have achieved two top ten hits, "About a Girl", Wear My Kiss, and their third single "Crash and Burn" is due to be released on 17 May 2010.
Heidi has confirmed that she has been writing songs for a currently undisclosed upcoming artist, and will be covering drivetime on a Classic Gold station.
She attended Maricourt High School in Maghull. She has been dating MTV and XFM presenter Dave Berry for six years. The pair appeared on All Star Mr and Mrs on 24 May 2008, in which they beat the other celebrity couples and won £15,000 for charity. On the 4 January 2010, it was announced on the official Sugababes website that Heidi and Dave Berry were engaged, after Dave proposed on New Year's Eve. [3]
