In medicine (hematology), bleeding diathesis is an unusual susceptibility to bleeding (hemorrhage) mostly due to a coagulopathy (a defect in the system of coagulation). Several types are distinguished, ranging from mild to lethal.

• Haemophilia
• von Willebrand disease
• Glanzmann thrombasthenia
• Bernard-Soulier syndrome
• Leukemia
• Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome
• Vitamin K deficiency
• Viral hemorrhagic fevers, e.g. dengue hemorrhagic fever and Dengue Shock Syndrome
• Hepatorenal Tyrosinemia

Other

• Scurvy, causing impaired wound healing.
