From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hendy Woods State Park is a state park located in Mendocino County, California. The 845-acre (3.42 km2) park contains two groves of old growth Coast Redwood: Big Hendy (80 acres) and Little Hendy (20 acres). The Navarro River runs through the length of the park.

Hendy Woods was named after Joshua Hendy who built a large sawmill on the Navarro River. In 1958 California created a park to protect the remaining groves of redwoods.
