Herbert Jefferson, Jr. (born 28 September 1946 in Sandersville, Georgia, U.S.A.) is an African-American actor. He is probably best known for his role as Lieutenant Boomer on the original Battlestar Galactica television series. Later, in the 1980 spin-off Galactica, his character had moved up in the chain of command, becoming Colonel Boomer, Executive Officer of the Battlestar Galactica.

He also portrayed a reporter in the film Apollo 13.
