Career

Pérez started in the youth divisions of Ytororó and Cristóbal Colón before being signed by first division club Tacuary, where he made his professional debut in 2007.[1] After making a good impression in the Paraguayan first division at his young age, he was signed by Club Libertad. On 30 July 2009 Villarreal C.F. bought from Club Libertad de Paraguay the striker, the young player signed with the Spanish club until June 2014[2].

International career

Pérez was one of the best players for the Paraguay national under-20 football team at the 2009 South American Youth Championship, where Paraguay finished in second place. Pérez scored an impressive 5 goals in 7 games and was considered one of the best players in the tournament and one of the most talented promises in Paraguayan football.[3][4]

After the South American Youth Championship, Pérez was expected to play a bigger role in Libertad's first team but a series of injuries gave him limited playtime in the 2009 season.[5]
