From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Holden Frontera is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was sold in Australia and New Zealand by Holden, a General Motors (GM) subsidiary. The Frontera was built by Isuzu between 1995 and 2003, being replaced by the Holden Adventra.

  • First generation (UT): badge engineered first generation Isuzu MU three-door SUV produced in the United Kingdom between 1995 and 1998. The original series Frontera was offered in one level of trim, the "Sport 4 x 4", offered exclusively with a four-cylinder engine and manual transmission.
  • Second generation (UE): badge engineered second generation Isuzu MU (three-door) and second generation Isuzu Wizard (five-door) produced in the United Kingdom between 1999 and 2003. All models had six-cylinder engines, except the three-door Sport, which retained the four-cylinder engine and manual transmission. Six-cylinder cars had the option of automatic transmission. During 2001, the UE Frontera was lightly updated. There were reductions in engine noise, fitment of an electronic throttle, and several interior upgrades.
