Management & Corporate Culture

Horiba is from the beginning a company whose values are of the utmost importance in her management policy. As stated in their motto, the top-executives say they try hard to promote “Joy and Fun” among the community of Horiba employees. They regularly carry on various programs such as the Blackjack Project, the Horiba College or the Birthdays of the Month initiative.

The company ambitiously extended its business all the 1990’s long, in particular in 1996 and 1997 by acquiring respectively the specialist blood cell counter maker ABX SA, and Instruments SA (current Horiba JOBIN YVON SA), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of optical equipment, both in France.

This diversification at the same time to semiconductors & medical equipment and throughout the world contributed efficiently to have them become emancipated from the Japanese industrial market. Indeed, while getting bigger Horiba’s sales in Japan evolved from 62% of the total sales in 1995 to only 35% in 2008.
