Hosea Gear (born March 16, 1984) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He plays for the Hurricanes in the Super 14 competition as a wing. He has played one international match for New Zealand.
The younger brother of New Zealand wing Rico Gear, he was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. He attended Gisborne Boys' High School and he plays for the Hutt Old Boys-Marist rugby club.
He has played 25 Super 12/14 matches and has scored 7 tries. He also used to play for Massey Rugby Club in 2004. He currently holds the record for most tries in a provincial season with 14 in the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup. He has played for the New Zealand Maori. After his outstanding performance for Wellington in the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup, he was chosen for the All Blacks to tour Hong Kong and Europe on the 26th of October, 2008 and made his debut against Australia in the Bledisloe Cup on November 1st.
