Ian Alexander Greig (born December 8, 1955, Queenstown, South Africa) is a former English cricketer who played in 2 Tests in 1982. Although born in South Africa, Greig qualified to play for England by virtue of his Scottish father. An all-rounder, he played for Sussex between 1979, playing some one-day cricket, making his first-class debut for them in 1980, playing for Sussex until 1985. His most successful season for Sussex was in 1981, when he scored 911 runs (average 30.36) and took 76 wickets at 19.32. He subsequently for Surrey, between 1987 and 1991, captaining them in this time.
He also represented Cambridge at rugby union in the 1977 and 1978 Varsity Matches, as well as playing cricket there, winning Blues for Cambridge in 1977-78-79.
Greig's older brother Tony is a former England captain.
He is currently director for cricket and 1st XI coach at Anglican Church Grammar School ('Churchie'), Brisbane, Australia.
