Imani A. Hakim (born August 12, 1993) is an American actress, notable for her role as Tonya Rock on the television situation-comedy series Everybody Hates Chris (2005–2009) broadcast on The CW Television Network.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and lives in Montclair, California, with her father and nine brothers — Lamar, Christopher, Ferrell, Alexander, Justin, Derrell, Dwanye, Doug and Shawn. Her father's side is Muslim.
She attends Sean Johnson High. In her spare time, Hakim enjoys music, African culture, using her video camera, reading, writing and the martial arts.
At age seven, Hakim began studying acting at Cleveland's Karamu House Theater, one of the oldest African American theaters in the U.S. She has also studied at Alexander's Workshop in Lakewood, California, and The Young Actor's Space in Burbank, California.
Hakim was the youngest cast member on Everybody Hates Chris. Before being cast in that series, Hakim had appeared in stage productions of Cinderella, The Hobbit and Who Stole the Baby Jesus.
Following the end of Everybody Hates Chris, she appeared in one episode in late 2009 on Wizards Of Waverly Place aired on the Disney Channel as a jump rope skipper.She also appeared in Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's video for Gucci Bandana.
