In Harihar Nagar is a 1990 Malayalam comedy film directed by the duo Siddique-Lal. It stars Mukesh, Siddique, Jagadish, and Ashokan. The film became one of the biggest hits in Malayalam film history.

The film was remade into Hindi and Tamil. In 2009, the film had a sequel directed by Lal from the duo, titled 2 Harihar Nagar which also became a blockbuster. Following this the director is now working on the third part for the film titled In Ghost House Inn.



Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindan Kutty (Siddique), Appukuttan (Jagadish) and Thomas Kutty (Asokan) are four young men enamoured by lovely Maya (Geetha Vijayan), the next door neighbour of Mahadevan. Maya is in town to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of her brother. The movie revolves around the antics of these four to win Maya's heart. It also explores the past of the central characters. Towards the end, John Honai (Riza Bava) a man with some dark secrets, appears.

In Harihar Nagar was the biggest grosser in Malayalam in the 90s.

Remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan as Dhol and in Tamil as MGR Nagaril in the year 1991.


19 years after the release of the original, ‘In Harihar Nagar’ had a sequel 2 Harihar Nagar directed by Lal of the director-duo Siddique-Lal. It was released on 1 April 2009. Planning to do the third part In Ghost House Inn: Harihar Nagar-3 it will release at 2010 march.
