In Solvent See is an upcoming album by Canadian industrial band Skinny Puppy. The title references the delay of the album due to insolvency issues by their label.

Title and Background

The title is an ironic reference to the insolvency issues faced by Skinny Puppy's German label Synthetic Symphony that delayed the album's release. Despite already having an accompanying tour scheduled which was still carried out, the album could not be released before the tour so they chose not to play songs from the new album on the tour. As Ogre explained beforehand, “We’re going to kind of keep the songs we perform a bit more on the retrospective side, but we don’t want to do the same things we did on the Greater Wrong of the Right tour again. Some of the theatrics on that tour were a bit extreme and actually ended up costing us sponsorships and caused mild protests from right-wing sympathizers.”[1] Because the solvency company held the future release of the recordings and Ogre explained that "we have been approached by the insolvency company which has been approached by the (German) government which has been approached by SPV. In the summer there was talk about a solution coming by August 22 2009 and it went on and on... We committed to this tour before it all happened. We followed the promise of what it meant to our fans. The show production and finances became a 'do it yourself' type thing."[2] The troubled label was eventually bought by Sony, which then announced in a press release that the new album would be released in March or April and that it would be available in two different editions.
