From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Inhalational anaesthetics are gases that possess anaesthetic qualities that are administered by breathing through an anaesthesia mask or ET tube connected to an anaesthetic machine. The agents of significant contemporary interest include the volatile anaesthetics (halothane, isoflurane, sevoflurane and desflurane) and the gases ethylene, nitrous oxide and xenon.
