International Power PLC (LSE: IPR) is an international electricity generator formed in 2000 by the demerger of National Power. It is headquartered at Senator House, 85 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and, after a two and a half year absence, it rejoined the FTSE 100 Index in March 2005.



In 2000 National Power demerged its UK businesses as Innogy with the remainder of the business being renamed International Power.[2] The Company was first listed on the London Stock Exchange on 2 October 2000.


International Power plc is a leading independent electricity generating company with 21,358MW (net) in operation and 978MW (net) under construction. International Power has power plants in operation or under construction in Australia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Puerto Rico and Thailand.
